Dress: Romwe / Jacket: Mango / Bag & Shoes: Alexander Wang

Neon and mesh? What's not to love about this combo? Got this cool shirtdress from Romwe (one of my favorite online stores) a few months back. As soon as I was able to retrieve this dress from the postal office, I made sure it got acquainted with dear Mackenzie (on sale HERE at 60% off!) right away. Threw in the (faux) leather jacket for that added warmth inside the cinema -- where I had to muffle my screams with a handkerchief whilst I watched in awe the awesome movie that is World War Z. Have you seen it already? If you haven't yet, you definitely should. I'm not a fan of zombies but the movie is a-maze-balls (despite some loopholes in the story).

Top, Jeans, Heels: Zara / Bag: Alexander Wang

I'll keep this post short and sweet. These photos were taken at Shutter Space studio. Loved the minimalist interior design and the quirky vintage pieces (i.e. old analog cameras, Atari console, rotary dial telephone, etc.) spread out across the receiving area. The lighting in the room where these photos were shot was dramatic and inviting and perfect for a black and white photo rendition. I would like to think that the overall composition of the photos went well with my minimalist outfit, composed of basic boyfriend jeans, my favorite (faux) leather & mesh top, and beige heels.

That's it. Happy Monday, everyone!

Top: Sheinside / Leather Shorts: The Ramp / Heels: Zara / Bag: Alexander Wang / Earrings: ASOS

Call me crazy but not even heatstroke nor copious amounts of sweat will stop me from wearing my beloved jumpers. Okay...maybe if I do experience fainting from a heatstroke, I might just change my mind. Haha. But in my defense, I was able to brave the heat and wear this cheeky statement sweater from Sheinside because strolling under the snarling sun wasn't part of the itinerary that day. Thank God. I actually wore this on a girlfriend's day-out with my good friend, Honey, and her sister, Shine. We spent half the day munching on fat-inducing treats (hello street food and steak!), shopping around for nifty gadget accessories and laughing our arses off over great, funny conversations. That was a fun day.

Now, I shall end the post with this:

  "What the fuck???" Hahaha!

I'm Just Meshin' With You

Jacket: Folded & Hung / Mesh Top: ASOS / Skirt & Bra: Forever 21 / Boots: Topshop / Bag: Alexander Wang

This mesh top, along with its white counterpart, has been sitting idly in my closet for months now. Haven't really figured out when and how to wear it until an opportunity cropped up at the last minute. Wore it to a local music festival of sorts where I unfortunately "lost" my iPhone5 in a sea of young adults running on dopamines. Needless to say, instead of enjoying the night whilst I throw fist pumps in the air and wiggle my jelly, I ended up leaving the event way too early, sulking and panicking on the way home (I had to change my app passwords and have my line deactivated, of course!). But good things swing by you when you least expect them to and the most amazing of amazing news popped up last Monday morning when a Good Samaritan reported that she has found my phone. Unbelievable. Luck was definitely on my side. So after one day of suffering from separation anxiety, I'm now reunited with my iPhone...and it feels so darn good!

Maxi Dress

Dress: Folded & Hung / Boots: Zara / Bag: Alexander Wang / Cuff: SM Accessories

No, your eyes are not fooling you. I really am wearing a long dress. Quite a novel visual, right? I actually can't remember the last time I wore a maxi dress. Good god, it must've been ages. I've almost forgotten how comfortable and ladylike long dresses made me feel, until I came upon this gorgeous blue dress. It was so light and airy that it made me want to do pirouettes. Haha! This dress is a perfect beach loungewear...no doubt about that. However, I wanted to wear it differently. So I took ye old hat and overused boots and ended up with a look that's quite fitting for a music festival scene.

P.S. Did you notice my "pixie" hair? I had it done a few weeks ago. This is by the far the shortest length of hair I've ever sported. I'm not really sure if I love it or not. :?

Of Snapbacks and Varsity Jackets

Monday, November 26, 2012

Jacket: Folded & Hung / Shorts: Nike / Top: thrifted / Boots: CS x Opening Ceremony / Bag: Alexander Wang / Earrings & Bra: F21

Running shorts + snapback + varsity jacket...this is as casual and sporty as it gets. Surprisingly, my favorite item in this whole look is the pair of Nike running shorts. I wear it almost every week! Yes, they're meant for running but they showed a lot of potential to be worn beyond what their purpose & function really is. Nothing beats going around in the city in a casual and comfortable pair of shorts. My 2nd favorite item here is the quilted varsity jacket. I actually picked it out from the Men's Section of Folded & Hung. When it comes to jackets (save for motorcyle types), I like them a bit big and loose and the Men's Section is my go-to area for needs like this. You should try it out too!

I know I haven't been uploading outfit posts for more than a week now...and if you're a regular reader, you probably know what kept me from doing so. I'll try my hardest to post more looks this week and the coming weeks. Wish me luck!

Russian Red

Dress: Free People / Wedges: Finsk / Bag: Alexander Wang / Eyewear: Karen Walker / Earrings: SM Accessories

I'm not fond of crimson hues when it comes to clothes but when applied to leather pieces, I can make an exception for it. I mean, how can you say no to a luscious red leather dress such as this piece from Free People? When I was going through the dresses in FP, my eyes zeroed-in on this shift dress immediately - the color, the dropwaist design and the material is just exquisite. I wasn't able to contain my excitement when I finally had my hands on the dress -- the buttery leather smelled sooooo good! This dress is definitely a favorite now (I've already worn it 3x!). The second time I wore it, I made sure it that it got acquainted with my Finsk wedges.

I don't think I could ever sell this dress in the future. It's definitely for keeps.

Leather Sleeves

Monday, October 8, 2012

Top: Ukayista / Shorts: WAGW / Boots: Soule Phenomenon / Necklace: SM Accessories / Gold Rose Bracelets: H&M / Eye Bracelet: ASOS

Fashion friends who know me well know for a fact that I've got a special place for Alexander Wang inside my heart (and in my closet). When I spotted this sweater from an online thrift shop, my heart did somersaults and I was grinning from ear to ear. The sweater reminded me so much of A. Wang's SS2010 grey dress (with brown leather sleeves) that passing up on it would be just plain stupid. My shopping predator instincts kicked in automatically and I hastily declared the sweater "MINE" before anyone else did. I was beyond stoked that this sweater went home to my loving arms. Thank you, Ukayista, for unearthing this amazing find!

Top: Levi's / Jacket: thrifted / Shorts: WAGW / Boots: Topshop / Bag: Alexander Wang

About a week ago, I had a TVC shoot (for work) and within the vicinity of s said hoot was this abandoned and dilapidated building that had so much character, I just knew that I had to have my outfit shots taken within its rugged walls. On-location shoots call for comfortable outfits (so that you can easily move around) so I had to resort to shorts, my beloved and over-used boots and a jacket in case it get's chilly inside the viewing tent.

P.S. Please pardon my annoyed-looking face. This was my attempt to give a nonchalant but fierce look, if you know what I mean. Totally failed. Haha!

Print on Print

 Blazer & Skirt: Zara// Ombre Top: Folded & Hung// Bag: Alexander Wang// Wedges: So FAB// Earrings: F21

Here's my take on the print-on-print trend. My mother actually found this look quite tacky and was shocked at my color combination choice (I had to bolt out of the door as quickly as I could to evade further mockery from her. Hahaha!). I couldn't blame her though. Not everyone will appreciate this kind of color and print pairing but I do stand by with my outfit choice to go all ocean and fire with colors. In my defense, at least the prints are similar (both are leaves). Haha!
