Top, Pants & Heels: Zara / Bag: Alexander Wang / Earrings: H&M / Eyewear: Cotton On

I'm not one to dabble on an extreme color burst of an outfit but this particular ensemble was an exception. The trousers and boxy sweater seemed to make the perfect pair after I tried them on during a recent Zara sale raid. I've been eyeing these two pieces since the new release of the Spring-Summer '13 collection and was so happy to find out that a few stocks were still available and were priced at 50% off at that.

It really pays to be patient.

If you're into jumpers in acid brights as well, check these out:

Jacket: Nastygal / Heels: Zara / Necklace: Margiela x H&M / Eyewear: Karen Walker / Jewelry: Wear Mauve

Say hello to my lovely tropical-print pajama pants. This pair is probably one of the most comfortable pair of bottoms I own, next to these printed wide-legged pants. These pants need not much styling nor accessorizing, hence the somber pairing with a simple tank top and bi-color jacket.

You can get the same pants HERE or a similar pair HERE. Below are other tropical print pieces you might also fancy:

P.S. Thanks to Honey for my Margiela x H&M neckpiece!

Sports Luxe

Jacket, Sports Bra & Earrings: F21 / Skirt: Topshop / Heels: Zara / Clutch: SM Accessories

I won't lie. I purchased this sports bra with no intention of wearing it to any fitness-related activity. Heck, the last time I set foot on the gym or on the jogging path was when I was in college...and that was eons of years ago! Haha! What lured me to processing another "unnecessary" purchase was the mesh detail on this sports bra (damn yes I'm a sucker for mesh). It reminded me of the T by Alexander Wang mesh bikini top that have made me tingle with lust all over (...if only it was available in my size). Since I like tinkering with clothes and wearing them beyond their natural purpose, I wore this sports bra as a cropped top of sorts to complete my intended sports luxe look. At least the bra made the whole ensemble a bit more legit (*excuses*).

Minimalism

Top: Zara / Skirt: The Ramp (similar here) / Heels: Zara / Box Clutch: Made U Look / Eyewear: Karen Walker

Recently, I've been drawn to minimalist pieces in color tones of white and black. Not foregoing my love for bohemian and grunge-infused ensembles, I'm suddenly finding clean and streamlined articles of clothing more and more appealing. This stark white leather shirt, with a subtle punch of texture (in the form of mesh), is a current favorite and is a versatile piece that can go well with anything. I can already foresee wearing this with my white origami skort, my leather dropcrotch trousers or even with my printed tailored pants. I might just do a major closet re-edit though -- get rid of the trendy printed pieces and leave the simple neutral ones behind. We'll see how that goes...

...And I'm sure some of you can adopt those pieces during the Bloggers United Bazaar 5 on June 1 (cheesy segue, isn't it? haha!).

Birds of Paradise

Jacket: Zara / Top, Skirt & Sunglasses: ASOS / Heels: Mango / Clutch: SM Accessories

Trying to experiment with more colors and prints than usual. Let's not play pretend here though -- we all know that I'm not that adventurous when it comes to prints so forgive me if you find this busy floral jacket and top combo strange. Well, at least in my eyes, this combo worked! Haha! The top I'm wearing here is actually a bodysuit. The print on the suit is a mirrored image of a bird surrounded by birds-of-paradise flowers, hence the title (I'm clever, aren't I? Hahaha!). The most special piece in this whole look though, for me, is the skirt. I'm all for the use of mesh in a non-sex bombshell way (i.e. mesh to show the cleavage or mesh to cleverly conceal body parts which shouldn't be seen by the public). Expect to see more of this skirt in upcoming posts!

Gotta go now loves. Hope you're all doing great! Again, don't forget to follow me on Twitter (@kookiebuhain) for blog updates, musings and whatnots.

Boltin' Out

Saturday, October 6, 2012

Top: Binkydoodles / Jeans: Zara / Heels: Mango / Bag: Phillip Lim / Earrings & Cuff: SM Accessories

I'm going to keep this short and sweet as I need to bolt outta the door and enjoy my Saturday (Heyo, it's a weekend!). This is a pretty simple look - wore a pretty peplum top with simple jeans and heels (I got the blazer on stand by just in case it got chilly). Sometimes, this is just how I'd like to wear myself and my clothes -- no fuss, no complications.

Hope you guys have an awesome weekend ahead! Don't forget to follow me on Twitter (@kookiebuhain) for blog updates!
