Jacket, Jeans & Boots: Zara / Tank Top: Topshop / Bag: Alexander Wang

I am not ashamed in admitting that I'm a notorious clothes repeat offender. In fact, I thrive on repeating clothes to get me through a hectic work week, or month. When your brain is all mush from overuse and stress, it's challenging to produce a decent outfit on a daily basis. And when I'm stuck in a fashion rut, I tend to gravitate towards familiar pieces that I can wear over and over again. I've worn every piece in this casual ensemble multiple times, in different style permutations. A great-fitting black motorcycle jacket (real or faux), a nice black camisole and a hardworking pair of chunky boots can give your wardrobe great mileage. So never ditch the basics. They're called basics for a reason.

I hope y'all are doing great! Cheers!

Top: thrifted / Shorts: Romwe / Shoes: Zara / Bag: Alexander Wang / Earrings: SM Accessories / Lips: MAC Rebel

If you attended the Bloggers United Bazaar Part 5 last Saturday and have been religiously following my Instagram posts (lol), then you've definitely seen me trotting around in this almost all-black ensemble. This look was a product of a semi-functioning brain (due to lack of sleep) and was a last minute decision. I was too engrossed with my preparations for the bazaar that I've completely abandoned coming up with a decent outfit for the event. So yes, I had to resort to my default black attire (which I actually sorely missed sporting). All of the pieces in this look have been recycled. I've already worn the mesh top (similar HERE) with my favorite origami skort and have paired my Balenciaga-ish diaper shorts with an improvised bandeau and a sheer floral top

On a similar note, BU5 was defnitely a huge success and this would not have been possible if not for the amazing supporters of our respective blogs and the hardworking team behind the event (Pax, Ana and the rest of the gang). To everyone who dropped by our booth to shop, say 'hello' and have their photos taken with us...thank you so so so much! Your excited smiles and energy were enough to assuage the stress and exhaustion I've been experiencing for days. Thank you as well for the kind words posted on Twitter and Instagram. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you again in the next BUB!

She's here!

I love this 'Mini Brenda' bag so much that I also got it in black. I'm sure her sister, Blue Brenda
would be thrilled to have her around. Haha!

Jewelry Trends for the Holidays

Saturday, December 29, 2012

With the holidays drawing near, everyone is scurrying off to get their shopping lists completed.  Stores are stocking their shelves with their best and brightest, coffee houses are brewing their special holiday blends, and jewelry stores are polishing up for their biggest season of the year. Every year there seems to be a new trend amongst jewelry.  A new list of must-have accessories.  Of course, when purchasing a gift you want to buy the latest and greatest for your friends, family, and even yourself.  Here is a break down to help you with this years holiday trends.

Diamond Studs:  Some things will never go out of fashion, like diamond stud earrings.  Just like the little black dress, these earrings should be a staple in every women's wardrobe.  They are the accessories you can reach to no matter what the occasion.  Diamond studs are the perfect combination of subtlety and sophistication.

Stackable Rings:  The beauty of this accessory is in its versatility.  Stackable rings can be worn separately or together.  Depending on the mood or occasion, you can create any desired look.  To add meaning to the rings, attach charms that reflect the tastes or interests of the recipient, or yourself.

Diamond Hoop Earrings:  Hoop earrings are a girl’s best friend.  They add that bit of spice and fun to any wardrobe.  You can pick from a range of sizes: small for a more understated look, or large for a more casual vibe.  Diamond hoop earrings look good on anyone; and are comfortable and easy to wear.

Diamond Tennis Bracelets:  Tennis bracelets are timeless.  Adding this accessory to any women’s wardrobe will surely brighten up her holiday season.  If its a gift, you can go for a modern look if your recipient is very fashionable.  Or stick with a classic bracelet if simple and sleek is their style.  A diamond tennis bracelet, whether worn to the office or to a party, makes a statement of elegance.

Take this advice, and come holiday season you’ll be sipping your latte while watching others battle the holiday rush.  Now there’s some holiday cheer.
