Surf's Up!

This dress was part of the loot bag that I got from Subcult last week. I actually let out a loud shriek when I spotted the surfboard print on it. Not only does this dress carry one of my favorite graphic prints, it also had a Balenciaga & Christopher Kane touch to it which I adore. Allow me to impart a styling trick that I always apply to dresses when I want a more casual look: I tie a long belt around the waist and gather the top part of the dress to create a billowy, dropwaist silhoutte. I've done this trick a number of times already, as evidenced HERE and HERE. For this somber summer look, I went with minimal accessories and just wore a couple of bracelets and a statement I.D. necklace from PlusMinusTimesDivide.

I've been squirreling away lightweight muscle tees (such as this Pink Floyd number from Subcult) to steel myself for the treacherous humid summer days. Sometimes, I pretend that I can face the heat even with a light sweater on...but waking up in the morning covered in sweat is bursting that happy fashion bubble.

P.S. Argh! I think my hair follicles are on steriods. My hair is growing faster than ever and I'm only able to enjoy a fresh buzz for less than a week. It's so frustrating!

Another Dimension New Galaxy, Intergalactic Planetary!

I remember going through a "printed leggings phase" last year (as seen HERE and HERE). Apparently, the appeal of this type of leggings hasn't worn out on me yet. Printed pieces call for minimal accessories, hence the simple ear studs, a solitary spiked cuff and a swag pair of round mirrored sunglasses. On a different note, I feel so refreshed from the one-day holiday yesterday (all thanks to our local heroes). Killed the alarm clock, took a long snooze and woke up to have my nails done and decompress. How did you spend the holiday?
