Mad For Plaid

Gray Button Down & Plaid Button Down: Lee Jeans / Shoes: Romwe / Bag: Alexander Wang

My Bazooka Rocks OOTD.

I'm quite the sucker for plaid button downs. It has a nostalgic grunge appeal that I always associate with rock bands and music festivals. Since I was attending a rock fest, my fashion weapon of choice had to be a plaid button down...but worn differently. Instead of having it envelope my hips (yet again), I toyed with the idea of converting my Lee plaid button down shirt into a skirt (ever the experimental fashionista that I am). And to shake things up further, I went with a BDOBD (button-down-on-button-down) configuration (both from Lee, by the way), paired with mesh boots ala Margiela. If you knew me well, you should've been able to deduce that I handpicked these two button downs from the men's section, just because I like my shirts big and loose. I am actually quite in love with the grey button down -- it makes me feel masculine and sexy at the same time.

Oh, and just a tip: the green plaid shirt I'm wearing is reversible. Yes. You get two shirts for the price of one, baby!

P.S. I will be sharing event photos from Bazooka Rocks 2013 soon! Watch out for it!

Everybody Talks

If you've been following me on Instagram, your IG feed would've probably been inundated with photos of my crazy awesome Wanderland Music & Arts Festival experience over the weekend. For a first-ever legit, quality music fest, Wanderland did not disappoint. Their band lineup turned me into a panicky and desperate beaver, scouring my social media network for tickets up until the very last minute. Obviously, we all know I got my happy ending. This uber casual cropped top + distressed denim outfit was the best I could cook up for Wanderland, even if I knew that it's a cookie cutter ensemble that would get lost in a sea of girls clad in similar articles of clothing. And boy, was I right. The Wanderland field was teeming with hipster girls in their floral wreaths, tank top, boots and denim shorts. I even saw someone wearing a black cropped top and denim shorts with a shirt wrapped around her waist too. Yikes. Oh well. Next time, I'll make sure my outfit is different from 80% of the festival population. Haha.

I'll be posting my Wanderland photos in a separate entry so watch out for that. Happy Monday, y'all!

Turtleneck

Top, Trousers & Eyewear: ASOS / Bag: Alexander Wang / Shoes: Mango / Bracelets: Mauve

It feels like the 90's all over again with this cropped turtleneck top. I actually kind of miss wearing turtlenecks (I used to have a lot when I was younger). I think I need a black one as well. I have these new dungarees which I reckon will go well with a cropped turtleneck and a plaid polo wrapped around the waist. Hmmmm...I can smell a 90's grunge look brewing!

Swaggernaut

(Jacket: Thrifted// Jeans: via Landmark// Shoes: Primadonna// Eyewear: Karen Walker// Earrings: F21)

If I were a guy, this is the type of outfit I'd definitely wear...a cool jacket, tight jeans and a pair of quirky shoes. I've had this floral bomber jacket for years and I'm so glad I held on to it as printed bomber jackets are quite the rage this season (as seen HERE). I'm quite excited to pair this jacket with more feminine pieces.

Now, where's my boombox at? I need to get my swagger walk on...hahaha!

Have a solemn Holy Week, everyone!
