Juxtapose

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

(Pants & Top: H&M// Vest: Paradigm Shift// Shoes: So Fab// Bag: Celine// Silver Cuff: Ruckus// Cube Ring: Gold Dot)

Juxtaposing feminine floral trousers with a masculine vest. I've mentioned in some post ago that every woman should have a pair of black pumps in their shoe closet. Pointed, round-toe, peep-toe, velvet, leather...whatever type of black pumps they are, you can never go wrong with them. Pumps work well with dresses, slim trousers, jeans, minis and shorts. My black velvet pumps are a recent find from So! F.A.B. and these are also available in red, in case you want to add a surge of vampy color to your look.

Watch out for exciting updates from me on So! F.A.B.'s blogger collaboration. We're cooking up something amazing for you guys! Meanwhile, check out fashion blogger Cheyser's namesake shoes HERE. For further updates, head on over to:

Celine

Finally, the long wait is over.

I've had my eye on the Celine mini luggage for more than a year and I kept on having these mini self-debates on whether I should get it or not. Somehow, the hefty price tag attached to the bag kept pushing me back. But this year, after turning (dirty) thirty, I felt that it was the right time to satiate my craving and reward myself with something 'grander' than what I would normally indulge myself with. My philosophy when it comes to choosing 'designer' bags (gah, i hate using this term!) is simple: I don't like taking chances...hence I go with simple structures and safe (and sometimes boring) neutral colors such as dark blues, browns and black. I was originally planning on getting a navy blue mini luggage and was a strand of hair close to wrapping my hands around it but for some unexplainable reason though, a lot of complications came along with it. In the end, I had to settle with the black version instead. I'm not complaining though. Secretly, my heart was pining for black. While some of the other bubbly and Barbie mini luggage colors (such as citron, fluoro pink, red, cobalt blue and tri-colors) are really interesting, you can't go wrong with black. You can get more mileage out of it as it can go with any look -- whether it be stark or as colorful as the rainbow. And knowing that I've purchased something quite pricey, I have to milk it for all of its worth. So yes, black may be boring, especially for a mini luggage, but to me it's such a beauty.

P.S. Thanks to my new-found friend, Charlene, for hooking me up with this purchase!

(Vest: Paradigm Shift// Trousers: Sabrina// Heels: Mango// Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim// Earrings: F21// Gold Hair Cuff: Gold Dot)

A masculine and feminine look mash up.

I'm swooning over this faux leather vest from Paradigm Shift's latest collection. It seriously fulfills my long vest requirements. I don't mind getting it in navy blue as well. And obviously, the feminine piece here is the pair of floral trousers. Such gorgeous mix of cool color tones, don't you think? This print also exists in the form of a blazer, just in case you want to go project a floral power suit look.

P.S. To everyone attending (and shopping at) BU3 tomorrow, we would like to request that you bring small change and your own eco bags. To the winners of the free passes, I sent you guys an email. :)

NEW IN: Last Haul Before The Shopping Ban

Thursday, March 15, 2012

Sharing with you some of my latest acquisitions (I ordered some of these last year and only received them recently):

1. Alexander Wang 'Constance' Booties - This pair is a little tricky to wear because of the steep arch but I still love its shape and its blue-tipped front.

2. Marni x H&M Trousers - I had a hard time choosing amongst the wonderful pieces in the Marni x H&M collection. My first choice had to be the brown patent leather top with gray sleeves though as the design definitely resonates my style. However, I found it a bit expensive and impractical to wear. I finally settled on the green trousers above (the print is very "Marni"). I know that I could get a lot of wear out of these pants.

3. Karen Walker 'Number One' Sunglasses - I've been lusting over this pair for more than a year and finally, I have them in my hands.

4. Viva Glam 'Nicki' - The color on this lippie is gorgeous and complements my skin color well. Definitely a good buy.

5. H&M Floral Trousers - Floral trousers....just because.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a serious note though...

While the sight of these pieces can be quite gratifying, they are just physical items which will not render anyone complete happiness and satisfaction. And this being said, I will be imposing a shopping ban upon myself (and I really do hope I follow-through with this). I need to do some soul-searching. Some things just doesn't feel right at the moment.

P.S. I will be in Davao this Sunday for the Joy Kaon Ta, Davao! food festival to be held in Brgy SIR Covered Court. To my Davao readers, hope you can drop by. :)
