Go shortie, it's yo' birthday!
Dress: Topshop / Sneakers: Adidas / Eyewear: Sunnies Studios
Last July 1, I celebrated my XXth birthday (We don't have to get into age details now, do we? Just know that I AM OLD. Period. Haha!). And what does a birthday girl wear on her birthday? A birthday dress of course! This dress is actually a recycled piece which I've already worn in a magazine feature HERE (I didn't bother belaboring myself in looking for a fresh birthday outfit as I simply didn't have the time to do so). What's up with the sneakers paired with a dainty dress, you might ask? Well, I've never been a fan of dressing up all saccharine and "girly" (except if the occasion requires it - i.e. weddings, formal events, etc.) so I had to add some mannish element somehow...hence the sneakers. Lately, I've been pouring all of my shoe-money on sneakers instead of on heels. Yup, it's safe to say that I've turn into a sneakerhead...which I think is a clear sign of aging (does the phrase "comfort over fashion" ring a bell?). I think I may have to change my blog name to "Death By Sneakers". Uh-oh...
On a side note, I spent my birthday this year the way I've been spending my birthday for the past couple of years: enjoying a simple but satisfying dinner in the company of loved ones. I was never one to celebrate by throwing a party anyway. The added treat though was watching the Argentina vs. Switzerland live match with good friends. Of course, the birthday girl's wish was granted...Argentina won! Woohoo! For those of you who are World Cup fans, let me know which team you're rooting for this upcoming finals. *wink*

DeleteHi Kookie! So glad you've been updating your blog again. Been following your posts since you started in Chictopia. You're the only local blogger I'm still following because of your up to trend yet classic style, and the fact that your blog isn't saturated with sponsored posts. Keep on keepin' it real (: And belated happy birthday!
