2013, In Retrospect

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

2013 was a year of taking on new challenges and harvesting achievements, of basking in great opportunities, of stepping out of comfort zones, of committing a handful of mistakes (and learning from these mistakes). It was a year of sticking to comfortable basics, of rocking the 90's and the short 'do and of ceaselessly staying true to one's style -- fashion and beauty-wise. It was a year of forging new friendships and relationships and rekindling old ones. It was a year of confronting personal demons, of looking quarter-life crisis straight in the eye, of learning to let go and of moving on. It was a year of experiencing a new culture and stepping onto new ground. It was a year of aspiring to be better, of pursuing long-overdue goals and of being wiser.

Before 2013 ends, I would like to thank everyone who have made this year infinitely awesome -- from brands, agencies and magazines I've got to work with; to mentors and colleagues who serve as a constant inspiration and reminder to work harder and deliver the best results; and to friends and family for imparting sage advice, words of comfort and wisdom and for sticking it out with me despite my shortcomings and bouts of craziness. A big thank you is also in order to all of my readers, both new and old, who continually support me, take time to read my posts and leave the sweetest comments -- you are all awesome!

2013, you were pretty great but I reckon 2014 will be even greater. Here's to a new year of loving more and of being healthy, fit, more inspired, wiser and happier!

Happy New Year, everyone! Salud!

  3. Happy new year Ms. Kookie. Looking forward to more achievements from you this 2014. I know many people already said that you are their fashion inspiration and I'm definitely one of them. I hope someday I can be like you but through reading your blogposts all through out the past year I realized I should be more of myself either to achieve, learn and most of all be happy for what am I doing. :)

    Much love, Allyzon :)
