Sweater: NAVA / Button Down Shirt: Romwe / Leather Pants: F21 / Shoes: Alexander Wang / Bag: Balenciaga

Is there anyone here who's guilty of practising last-minute-Christmas shopping?

*slowly raises right hand*

It seems that almost every year, I end up doing my Christmas shopping just a few days before Christmas day (you can say that it has become a Christmas ritual of mine). And I hate it. I hate the long queues, the irate shoppers and the case of the "sold out" items. I really have no right to rant because I've willingly subjected myself to this kind of Christmas shopping torture...but I still go on with it anyway. But don't get me wrong --my Christmas gifts are well thought-of (at least most of them are) and seeing the faces of my friends and family lit up when they open those presents from me is priceless.

I guess it's a love-hate relationship with Christmas shopping. Can you relate?

P.S. Today is our last day at work and I have a full two-week break to finally get some R&R! I am so damn friggin excited!

Culottes

Pants: Front Row Shop (get it HERE) / Top: ASOS (get it HERE) / Bag: Givenchy / Shoes: Alexander Wang

I remember donning culottes way back in grade school, pairing it with my cute sandals and sleeveless button down shirts (Aahh, the time when I was slowly blossoming into a lady. Haha!) and now, it's found its way into my heart (and inside my closet) once again. I'm glad that culottes have finally been resurrected (not that it ever really died) -- in varying cuts, materials and lengths. The grey wool pair of culottes I'm wearing in this ensemble is an amazing find from my favorite online store du jour, Front Row Shop. This gem of a store curates a great selection of well-made, on-trend clothes, shoes and accessories which you can unapologetically wear over and over again. Traipse over to the shop, ogle and be prepared to burn a whole lotta cash.

...And don't say I didn't warn you.

Tartan

Top, Jacket & Skirt: Zara / Bag; Givenchy / Shoes: Alexander Wang / Ring & Cuff: Tiffany Kunz

I'm pretty sure most of you are busy preparing for tonight's Halloween festivities. I've been seeing a couple of Halloween costume posts on Twitter and Instagram the past few days and I can't help but wonder how it would be like to attend a crazy Halloween party. Yep, Halloween-party virgin here. Shocked? Don't be. I was never one to obsess about Halloween anyway -- never participated in a real trick-or-treat  nor decked myself in a full-on Halloween costume (Office trick-or-treat parties don't count, okay? Those are meant to be enjoyed by the employees' little tots. Haha!). For some people though, Halloween is considered as sacred and the best holiday there is...even besting Christmas. Not me. I still prefer Christmas over any holiday, even if year on year, I always get bitten by the Christmas Scrooge bug (I guess it comes with age, especially when you start working and stop receiving monetary presents from relatives because you're already deemed as self-sufficient. LOL!). Speaking of Christmas, doesn't my tartan outfit look a bit Christmas-y, especially with those poinsettia plants in the background? Can this already pass off as a Christmas-inspired Halloween costume? No? I thought so too.

Well, enjoy all of the Halloween party debauchery tonight, you Halloweeners or Trick-or-Treaters or whatever you lot like to call yourselves on Halloween night!

The Basics

Monday, September 9, 2013

Jacket, Top &Shorts: Zara / Shoes: Alexander Wang / Personalized Necklace / Bag: Balenciaga (available HERE)

Leather jacket. White shorts. Black strappy top. These are just a few of the basic pieces that every woman should stock up on. And trust me, you can never go wrong with these -- they're failsafe, versatile items that you can play around with and mix with other pieces from your closet. When I'm cast in situations wherein I can't be bothered to even dwell on coming up with a decent OOTD (a.k.a. #busyworkinggirl), I rely on these basic pieces to get me through the day. Case in point: the achromatic and casual ensemble pictured above which I wore to a long, tiring day which entailed orchestrating a big client event and mobile on-location shoots. Whew.

P.S. This is what happens when you're not looking and the camera is clicking...

Get A Leg Up

Thursday, August 1, 2013

Skirt: Romwe / Jacket: Mango / Tank Top: Daley Tees / Shoes: Alexander Wang / Earrings: Chicnova / Wallet: Givenchy

I rarely wear clothes which are too revealing or coquettish. And when I do, I make a big effort to downplay the possible sexual undertone by throwing on a physical cover-up or an innocent demeanor. This mixed media skirt has a modest thigh slit which shows just the right amount of skin for a little Jolie side-leg-pose action. But while it's appropriate for daytime wear, a sleeved top or jacket should be strictly enforced.

What say you about the impending Friday? I'm pretty sure we're all looking forward to it (who isn't anyway?). By the way, I'll be flying to Cebu this weekend for the Ironman 70.3 event (no, I'm not racing). See you there?

Oh Bianca, I was looking all over for you. It's so thoughtful of you to finally show up when I was almost about to give up on you. Well played, my dear. Well played.
