All spiffed up to witness a wonderful celebration of love between two friends...
For my friend's wedding, the required attire was 'strictly formal' and for someone who barely attends formal events, let alone dresses up in something ultra-feminine and long, this was a rather challenging request and was quite a foreign concept. "Where do I find a gown? What design should I go with? Do I get a long one-piece or separates?"
Getting a designer to customize a dress for me or finding a ready-to-wear gown in-store was not an option as I simply didn't have time for fittings or for store-hopping. The next best option? Look for a dress online...and yes, take a gamble on the fit. Luckily, the search process was actually quite a breeze and it didn't take me too long to find THE dress. This serpentine Jarlo dress, with its delicate buttons, frill cold shoulder detail and gorgeous teal color, was love at first click. Despite it being an RTW piece, its length was just right on me and it need not require any fabric manipulations...which was a relief as I was already dreading the visit to the seamstress had it been a tad longer. Thank God. The rest of the styling and booking of the makeup artist/hairstylist were done at the last minute but I'm glad everything worked out well for this wedding guest look. Hay...
Enjoy the Holy Week break, guys! Decompress if you must and and reflect if you can.
