Our recently concluded Shanghai trip was a much needed break from a toxic half-year of work, full to the brim with projects. Shanghai is a beautiful cosmopolitan city, even more so at night, with all of its kaleidoscopic lights dominating the city line (best viewed via a Huang Pu river cruise). Our itinerary was comprised of all of the touristy things that we can possibly cramp within a full 2 days a half but the highlights of our trip were definitely the visits to The Bund (a waterfront boardwalk where you can marvel at Shanghai's gorgeous and sleek cityscape) and Tian Zi Fang (an artsy enclave with maze-like alleyways filled with quaint shops, cafe's and restaurants). The food in Shanghai is not something I would rave about (as I find traditional Chinese cuisine quite bland for my liking) but the gastronomic icing on the cake were getting to taste Din Tai Fung's famous Xialongbao and finally sinking my teeth once again on an Ikea hotdog sandwich. Laugh all you want but I consider Ikea's simple hotdog sandwich as probably one of the best (if not THE best) hotdog sandwiches I've ever tasted.
It's always a great experience to travel to new places, immerse oneself in a different culture and feed that need for wanderlust. Hope you enjoyed viewing this photo diary, even if the photos aren't that much.
I wonder where my feet would take me next...
P.S. To all of my dear Filipino readers, please stay safe and dry from Typhoon Yolanda.

DeleteIKEA does have great food! I've eaten there for lunch a few times. :) Looks like such a cool city. Love the photos. I don't know if I've asked you this before, but what kind of filter do you use when you post-process your photos? I really like it! Hope you have a great weekend! <3
