About three weeks ago, I attended the Exception Music Festival (EMF) in BGC. It was my first time attending an outdoor electronica concert and I must say, it was one of the most amazing, spontaneous and thrilling experiences I've ever had in my whole life! (for someone who's aging and who likes to plan ahead, my life can get pretty boring). Although I had every intention of attending the festival, my heart sank when I found out how pricy the tickets were. Spending that much money on a fairly foreign activity might not be worth it, I thought. So on the day of the concert, I was already resolved not to go, so much so that I decided to just spend the night with my boyfriend, have dinner in our favorite Korean restaurant and just chill out at our friend's place in Makati. Before heading to Makati though, I nagged my boyfriend to drop by BGC to check out the scene at the EMF. I wanted to see what the event looked like from the outside. But the moment I saw the bright lights swirling around the venue and heard the loud thump of the bass beats, I was immediately entranced. The music lured me to go inside and it was just pure insanity not to heed its call. It was a good thing that I was dressed in casual wear that night (albeit not in proper festival clothing as I was wearing a jacket and a long-sleeved top -- ang init! ack!). My running shorts and Topshop boots saved me though from hours of standing, walking and dancing (and jumping) to great goddamn music. If I had enough time to prepare though, I would've definitely opted for a more heat-and-sweat-ready ensemble, such as the outfit I'm wearing in these photos.
Going to the EMF was definitely worth my time and money. I was able to experience something new and had loads of fun in the process (I even got to see a couple of blogger friends that night). I wish there would be more music festivals like the EMF...just because everyone needs music in their life. Don't you agree? :)
