Connect The Dots

(Dress: Envy// Jacket: Zara// Eyewear: Mango// Shoes: Shoe Etiquette// Bag: Inverted Commas// Necklace: Prism)

This is an outfit I can definitely see myself wearing in a music festival (with colder weather please). When you want to add some edge to a dainty dress, you can't go wrong with a leather jacket and some cool specs. A pair of wedge booties doesn't hurt either. I swear, these wedges are super comfy. I can walk in them all day! And oh, check out the artsy shopper bag I'm toting. It's from the label, Inverted Commas, owned by fellow Chictopian, Francesco. The gorgeous redhead woman print was designed by Francesco himself. Didn't know he was an art genius!

Check out the other tote designs HERE.

(Blazer & Shorts: Thrifted// Top: Style Staple// Bag, Eyewear, Necklace & Ring: SM Accessories// Watch: Parfois// Shoes: So FAB)

Obviously, I was all for 'lazy dressing' when I came up with this look. Fancy footwear and a great-looking purse always save the day when one's stuck in a rut. My savior is in the form of a pair of mustard suede platforms from So F.A.B. and a cute box bag a la Celine from SM Accessories. You can find more of these classy purses from SM Department store for less than a thousand pesos! Now that's what I call a good find.

To get updates and to view So F.A.B.'s latest summer shoe collection, head on over to:

P.S. For those who have been asking, I had my hair cut at Azta Urban Salon ATC branch. If you're planning to get an ombre or have a haircut as well, look for my stylist Mara - she's the best!

Pastels

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

Lilac, lemonade and mint. These pastel colors somehow remind me of pretty Easter eggs (weird, right?). I got these nail paints from one of the hundreds (or probably thousands!) of Face Shop stores in Seoul. One particular Face Shop branch in Seoul station had a 20% sale and I squirreled all of the yummy pastel nail hues! Each bottle was priced at less than a dollar!

Blunt

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

(Top & Necklace: H&M// Pants: F21// Pumps: Sugarfree)

And I'm back from my lovely Seoul trip. The weather in Seoul was really chilly albeit nice, which gave me the chance to layer, layer, layer. I shall post photos soon! In the meantime, as mentioned in my previous post, I had my hair chopped. Nothing fancy here though. Just a short blunt 'do with a bit of ombre. I had my hair cut because I was getting a bit bored with my long hair. Plus, the tips were tremendously dry and had a lot of split ends too because of too much bleaching. It feels liberating to have a shorter mane now. Although at times, I do miss my long hair whenever I look at old photos. Oh well. I hope everyone's doing great. I'm not. I'm feeling a bit under the weather. Must be the sudden weather change.

She Sells Seashells By The Seashore

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

(Top: Binkydoodles// Shorts: Pinkaholic Fashion Shoppe// Heels: Zara// Necklace: H&M// Eyewear: Karen Walker// Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Pashli')

My apologies for the 3-day absence. I spent the weekend burning myself under the La Union sun. I don't have enough photos from that beach trip (I got too lazy to lug my camera around) but I'll try to share captured moments soon. Just a heads up -- I'm going MIA again. I'll be leaving for Seoul on Thursday (early morning flight! eep!). I'm still contemplating on whether I should bring my laptop (so that I can update the blog) or not. I can't wait to see cherry blossoms up close though for the first time! They say cherry blossoms will be in full bloom in Korea around this month. In the meantime, I'm leaving you with outfit shots taken right before I had my hair chopped.

Yes, you read that right. I had my hair chopped. :)

P.S. Thank you to Bianca for the lovely sheer seashell-print top!

Colorful Aztec

Friday, April 13, 2012

(Dress: Topshop// Jacket: bought from Aisa Ipac// Shoes: Alexander Wang 'Constance'// Earrings: Extremefinds// Bag: Emblouissant// Yello Cuff & Bird Bangle: Envy// Knot Bracelet: Binkydoodles)

Playing with a rainbow of colors. I've had this aztec-print dress for 2 years already (view my first post on this dress HERE). While I may have outgrown my 'bodycon dress' phase, I couldn't let go of this particular dress. I guess I'm the type who has a hard time letting go of things, no matter how old they are. It was a good thing I kept this dress though. I'm still drawn to its colorful aztec-print. I think the highlighter yellow earrings go well with the colors of the dress too, wouldn't you agree?

P.S. If you're looking for sleek satchel bags, head on over to Emblouissant HERE and HERE.

Denim Blues

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

(Skirt: Streetbeat Boutique// Heels: Zara// Gold Belt: NAVA// Bag & Eyewear: F21// Eyewear: Mango// Arty Ring: Envy Accessories)

It has been months since I've last worn this Alexander Wang-inspired skirt (wore it for the first time HERE). This time around, I decided to pair it with a denim shirt for an easy and relaxed look. Aside from a crisp white polo, I reckon every woman should also own a denim shirt. It can go with almost any type of bottom.

Hope everyone's doing fine! :)

Be Body Beautiful At Any Age...

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

Now that I’m nearing the dreaded “30 Y.O.”, I’ve been going through a lot of introspections -- I keep on questioning and criticizing my choices and decisions and have been scrutinizing all of the physical changes unraveling before me. Every time I look at myself in the mirror, I keep on noticing the slight wrinkles and crow’s feet on my face, all of which were nonexistent before. I’ve also been noticing the emergence of sunspots and unwanted lumpiness left and right. Oh dear. I am getting old.

But all of these unwanted physical changes, no matter how they make me shudder, are all part of aging. And really, there is nothing wrong with aging -- we will all go through this at some point in our lives.

There are different measures we can take though to help us confront the aging process with grace. Some of these are: observing proper skin hygiene, eating healthy, well-balanced meals, getting adequate sleep, exercising and wearing appropriate undergarments. Yes folks, undergarments!

To be honest, I’ve never really cared for wearing proper undergarments. I’ve had these years-old underwired brassieres that I still use to give my teeny tiny twins a little lift. Haha! All this time, I thought I was doing fine in the undergarment department when I had a good dose of the wake up pill from a meeting I attended a few weeks ago with the intimate apparel brand, Wacoal.

In that meeting, I discovered (and realized) that as our bodies change as we grow older, so should our undergarments. Case in point:

 How Breasts Age

How Hips Age

How Stomach Ages

As we age, our breasts, stomach and hips (as well as other parts of our body) go through a lot of changes – they lose their elasticity and firmness and they tend to sag due to the natural pull of gravity. What this implies is that a bra designed for a woman in her 20’s may not necessarily fit a woman in her 40s, even if both women have the same cup size (hmm…so that’s why my bras fit a little weird).

Now, if all of this info on body changes is getting you a bit frazzled on which undergarments you should be purchasing and wearing, fret no more because Wacoal has got you covered. They’ve developed undergarment lines fitting the body specifications of different age groups to give each woman the perfect silhouette.

If you’re a woman in your 20s, Wacoal has a set of fun and flirty designs that can help emphasize the beautiful shape of your breasts, waists and hips:

For women in their 30s, there are brassieres with underwire, pads and side panels with reinforced fabric/bone to give you a refined shape:

For the lovely women in their 40s, Wacoal has bras with wider straps and side panels to support your breasts, shoulders and back:

Now let me show you what I got for myself:

I needed a new seamless panty badly and this nude one from Wacoal fits great and even has a butt support to frame my 'little behind'. I also got a nice t-shirt bra to replace my cheap, worn out and dimpled bras (haha!). Trust Wacoal to provide you with great fit and quality.

Now after all of this long 'talk', the fact that you have to keep in mind is this: choose the right underwear based on your age. But most importantly, love your body, whatever your age, size and shape is.

And with the help of Wacoal, you can be body beautiful at any age.

Hot, Hot, Heat!

Sunday, April 8, 2012

(Cover-Up: Closet Chic// Shorts: Streetbeat Boutique// Boots: Jeffrey Campbell// Eyewear: Karen Walker// Nails: Spaholic 'White Satin'// Bag: SM Department Store)

This time of the year, stepping out of the house feels like stepping inside a giant broiler -- you can feel the sun’s rays violently pricking your skin and wearing jeans or leggings may seem to be an insanely stupid idea. This explains why I’m clad in my shortest of shorts. It’s summer time, ladies! And I can’t stress it any further.

For this summer look, I went with a pair of high-waist denim cut-offs and a slinky tank and brought in the summer cheer with a lovely maxi kimono (it’s sheer and airy) and a bright pink jelly bag. Ain’t the bag cute? It’s from SM Department Store and you can get it for FREE when you present a single receipt purchase worth Php 3,000 or more. This bag is definitely perfect for summer and for the beach! In fact, I’m bringing it with me to La Union next week! While I love my old, ratty beach sling bag, it always gets wet because it’s made of thin textile. This SM Jelly Bag, on the other hand, is made of plastic, making it waterproof. It’s roomy too and can fit all of my beach essentials. Perfecto!

The jelly bag also comes in lovely shades of blue, orange and green (I actually had a hard time choosing between pink and green!). The colors are so infectiously bright and fun that you won’t be able to resist taking this bag with you wherever you go this summer.  And wherever you do go this summer, be sure to take a photo of yourself with your SM jelly bag because you might just win some sweet shopping money from SM Department Store! Sounds exciting? Then BE SEEN WITH AN SM JELLY BAG and head on over to the link below for more details on this summer promo.

Oh, I can’t wait to hit the beach next week. There’s no place I’d rather be in right now than in the warm embrace of sea waves and warm sand. Happy Easter, everyone!

Stuck In A Rut

(Bell Bottom Jeans: F21// Body Harness: Superfluously// Bag: via IT Designer Lab// Eyewear: H&M// Claw Cuff: La Dama// Snake Ring: Bring)

An ultimate lazy look for a lazy day. This outfit would've been pretty boring too if I hadn't cheated and played with accessories. When you feel like sh*t or when you're just too much of a sloth to dress up, I swear...a hat, pair of sunglasses and interesting jewelry can do wonders!
