Over the Holiday break, I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Raez of Cheapthrills. I've been following Raez's blog for over 2 years now. I love the photos and the witty content in Raez's posts as well as the spunky attitude she gives off in her outfit poses. Raez was born in the Philippines but is now residing in Canada. When I found out that she was coming over to the Philippines for a 2-week vacation, I nudged myself to ask her for a quick meet-up and I'm thankful that she obliged. We met up in the South and I took her for some bit of shopping in Alabang and in Makati. Seconds were spent conversing about fashion, school systems, education, life in Canada and the quick changes that took place in the Philippines. Raez's dad accompanied us during our shipping trip and I must say, he's one of the coolest and most adorable dads I've ever met.

For an 18 year old, Raez is surely wise beyond her years. What I admire about her the most is her go-getter attitude. At such a young age, she's already set on the career she wants to pursue after college and aims to get to her goal/s and be the best at it. Wish I was as strong-willed as her when I was 18 years old.

Edric is one of those people who appreciates the beauty in the mundane and sees a story behind and beyond the obvious. And he was able to capture that in this photo set. In the first photo, it seems as if I'm a few feet away from the edge of a precipice...but the truth is, I was just standing behind an expansive white wall. Brilliant, right?

(Intermission) Get Your Sand On!

One of the things I want to try this year is sandboarding. I'm pretty sure it's an activity that's going to leave me stoked, once I'm able to glide down some gorgeous sand slopes. I'm so thankful that we have natural sand dunes here in the Philippines. These sand dunes can be found in Ilocos Norte. And the amazing news is, the first sandboarding competition in the country will be held this coming February 11, in La Paz, Laoag! (Oh man, I want to go this event so badly...) If you're a thrill-seeker, you should definitely join the Laoag La Paz Sandboarding Competition!

This event is presented to you by the LEAD MOVEMENT, the "innovators of sandboarding in Ilocos", and Havianas, in cooperation with City Government of Laoag for the annual Pamulinawen Festival.

As promised, here are the photos from the collabo shoot I had with Anton. Anton currently dabbles in street photography, taking photos of friends and of random breathing souls. I'm not sure if this shoot was his first themed one, but I sure did enjoy doing it with him. It's nice to break away from "outfit" posts once in a while. It's also great to be in the company of people who share the same interests and vision as I do, moreso if they all reside in the same area as where I live (cheers to the South, baby!). When Anton and I were discussing the theme for this shoot, I knew in my head that I wanted to wear this Ornithopter dress from Paradigm Shift. It's such a simple piece but has a tough and sultry whimsy to it. It sure hell looks good with the Drei wedges from Gold Dot too. Now, if this look doesn't project a "Don't you dare mess with me!" 'tude, I don't know what else will.

A Teaser

Here's a little teaser for the photo shoot I did with a budding photographer friend, Anton. Anton and I had been planning a themed shoot for months and it was a damn good thing that my schedule finally cleared up last Saturday or else it would have taken forever for us to have this executed. For the shoot, we decided to go with a goth-nymph kind of theme, complimented by an all-black ensemble and a woodsy backdrop. Props to Camille Regala, a new-found friend and makeup & hair extraordinaire, for being such a trooper and agreeing to do my hair and makeup on such short notice. She did such a fantastic job with my smoky eye "melt-you-with-my-stare" makeup and was able to give me the brushed-up, faux mohawk hair that I wanted, even without a peg in hand. I'll definitely book her again for another not-so-impromptu impromptu shoot or a special event that needs some doll-ing up.

I'll share the photos from our shoot in the next post! Hope you are as excited as I am to see them. :)

Wore this fuzzy jacket on a day when the Manila weather wasn't too belligerently stifling...and I must say, that day was a damn pretty good day. Kept everything else simple and unpremeditated. Seriously, you cannot go wrong with a pair of good-fitting jeans and a white loose tank top. Currently, I'm finding myself drawn again to skinny jeans and vintage-style sunglasses. I used to collect vintage eyewear with beautiful gold frames. Unfortunately, I can't find them anymore. Mother dearest must have accidentally given them away. Oh I hope not. :?

An Inkling

About a week ago, I had the privilege of meeting Edric Chen - a young photographer who has been shooting beautiful and interesting portraits of various personalities (eminent or not) for quite some time now. While Edric claims not to be a photographer, but simply an individual with a camera, I can't help but regard him as such. Yes, anyone with a camera can become photographer but only a few have the eye to see past the obvious, to go beyond the usual point-and-shoot and can make even the most mundane of things look alive or convey an emotion. Edric, in my opinion, is one of those few who can. Before meeting Edric, I had an image of him in my head as someone who's stern and who likes doing things point by point. But as I got to converse with him throughout our entire session, I was able to deduce that he is actually quite the opposite -- he's soft-spoken but witty and is not afraid to experiment and make little discoveries. I am usually apprehensive in meeting new people as I'm not much of a talker myself. I despise having 'small talks' and experiencing that awkward silence when you have nothing else sensible to say. With Edric, it was a different story. He's one of the few people I've met who made me feel as if we could go on a conversation together for hours and hours and it wouldn't feel such a drag doing so. I'm glad he feels the same way about me.

Oh, velvet. Why do you have to be so soft and plush? I can't help but caress you and hold you next to my cheeks. Okay, okay. Pardon me for this rubbish soliloquy, but I think velvet (and sequins) will be a big part of my life this 2012. Just about 2 months ago, I got myself a pair of crushed velvet bell bottoms (just waiting for the parcel to arrive) and now, I have this gorgeous pair of black velvet shorts (and in blue too! ack!). When I saw these shorts online, I knew right away in my head that it will go so well with a cape top and a pair of snakeskin & suede heels that I recently got from the Zara sale. For this look, I played with white, red and black hues and threw in metallic colors as an accent. These shorts are already sold out in Pinkaholic Fashion Shoppe but can you still get your hands on a similar pair from Topshop...but for double the price. :?

Whiskey and Wine

"Whiskey & Wine" is one of my favorite songs from the band, 311, but I'm borrowing the title of the song in reference to...no, not an alcoholic drink, but to my new wine suede boots from So Fab. The heel height on these boots are a big departure from my 5 incher shoes, making them really comfortable to wear and walk in. Speaking of So Fab, the brand has a lot of exciting things in store for you guys this year! Can't wait! On a different note, I had a shoot yesterday with Edric Chen. He has shot portraits of quite a handful of Filipino fashion bloggers and I'm honored to be included in his growing list. I'll share the products of our shoot soon.

Inside My Makeup Bag

I've gotten a few requests (via email) from readers to share my makeup routine but since I don't know how to properly put makeup on, I'm doing a "What's Inside My Makeup Bag" post instead. So indulge me for a moment as I share with you the contents of my makeup bag. I actually feel a bit ridiculous for posting this as I'm not exactly the poster girl for great, flawless-looking makeup (I couldn't even put on a decent smoky eye to save my life!) but I thought I'd share this with you just the same.

Let me start off with my makeup bag. I used to place all of my makeup items in one large pouch but it has gotten so bulky that I decided to break down the contents and use two pouches instead (it's quite ironic how a makeup idiot-savant like me has so many items inside her makeup bag). I got the pouches (pictured above) from SM Accessories for a steal (they came with a brush kit and another pouch in a smaller size -- for under Php 600 only!).

Here are the contents of the bigger pouch:

1. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Bisque

2. MAC Pressed Blot Powder - I have oily skin so this really helps mattify my face

3. MAC Studio Fix

4. Benefit Porefessional - I only use this during special occasions but I love

how it makes my big pores look smaller

5. Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner in Black

6 & 7. Forever 21 Quad Palettes - You'll never go wrong with tried & tested shades of grays and browns. These quads are fairly pigmented and are really inexpensive
(got them for less than Php 300 if I'm not mistaken)

8. Maybelline Blush in Creamy Cinnamon

9.Laura Mercier Eye Colour in Chocolate - I have deep-set eyes so darker shades work best on me

10. Etude House Eyeshadow in Dark Gray - I love how highly pigmented this eyeshadow is
compared to all of the other dark gray eye colors I've tried

1. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Addis Ababa - I love layering this over my pale pink lipsticks

2. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp - I love this! I adore the pink-coral shade!

5 & 6. The Face Shop Healing Lip Butter & Carmex Lip Balm - I always get dry lips so these really help

The lipsticks featured here just comprise one-fourth of my humble lipstick collection (you can view my complete MAC collection HERE). The rest are placed inside another pouch. Haha!

So that's it! This concludes my "what's inside my makeup bag" post. Whew! Never knew doing this kind of post can take up so much time. Haha!

A lazy outfit worn on a lazy Sunday. Knit jumpers are now a staple in my closet. I have them in an array of shades and lengths and different levels of fuzziness (haha!). I'm just taking advantage of the sweater weather and I really couldn't keep myself from wearing these comfy, love-to-snug pieces. Expect another round of these sweater outfit posts. And if ever y'all are getting tired of these mundane sweater looks...remember, you have been forewarned. Haha.

Nothing spells "sexy" more than a black sheer top. Case in point, this sleeveless shirt from Peek-A-Boo spiced up with faux leather details. I've been fiddling with this top a bit and have been incorporating it in various outfits. It's quite a fun piece to play with! For a toughened up Harley-rider look, I threw on a motorcyle jacket and my trusty ombre shorts (which I just can't get enough of). Speaking of motorcyle jackets, I'm so glad that I finally found a black one that fits most of my specifications. I wouldn't say that it's the perfect black moto jacket, but it would have to do for now.

I'm really not a big fan of orange tones. I prefer using it as an accent for certain looks. However, I was drawn to the lovely, rich tangerine hue of this knit jumper from Zara.. I just couldn't resist it! And the wonderful surprise of seeing it on sale definitely led to an instant purchase. I paired the top with leopard print pants in this lush velvety material (which I got on sale too!) and finished off the whole look with my suede & patent wedges from Aldo (posted about these shoes HERE).

Oh end-of-season sales, you're a devil and a half! Haha!

Sheer & Striped

Had the same knit top on as yesterday's post but wore this on a different occasion. Loving the semi-sheer look of the top but I'm not a fan of the material as it easily unravels when something sharp gets in contact with it. In other news, I will be selling these red pumps in the SHOP soon so stay tuned for that.

This was the look I came up with for my solo feature in Mango's Styled By. I wanted to highlight the motorcycle jacket so I kept everything else simple. This is definitely an outfit I would definitely wear to a music festival... comfy but with an attitude.

Grunge...this is the look I'm most comfortable with. I'm particularly loving this wolf-print shirt. There's something so Christopher Kane/Givenchy about it. For a no-fuss, 5-minutes-to-style grunge look, just go with a cropped tee or an over-sized shirt, some platform boots, leather or denim shorts and a ratty hat worn with dry, messy hair. Haha!

Aldo 'Ugland' Wedges & Zara Ankle Boots

Thank goodness for SALES! I've had my eye on these Zara ankle boots for a while now and I'm glad that I was finally able to purchase it at a discounted price. I'm not really a fan of stiletto heels, but what got me attracted to these boots is the playful mix of hues and different types of leather. It was a different story for the Aldo wedges though. I was actually browsing through the sale items inside the store when I saw these Uglands. They look so much like the Theory Theysken's wedges that I've been secretly obsessing about. I also love the mix of suede and patent leather. I think it gives the shoes some character. Now both of these lovelies are definitely not my typical "rugged & grungy" pair of shoes. But I realized that it's high time that I invest on "dressier" types of shoes that I could wear for events. I think wearing platform boots all of the time just won't cut it.

It's sale season once again, ladies! And I heard that the Topshop sale starts tomorrow! Have you gone sale-shopping yet? Let me know what your recent purchases are! :)

Banana Peels

A pretty laidback look which could well pass off as a summer outfit. I wanted to highlight the print on this charming top (which reminds me so much of bananas) so I opted to pair it with a neutral white leather skirt. The pairing of the top and skirt was also the perfect opportunity for me to whip out these gorgeous Leviathan wedges from Gold Dot. Y'all know I have a soft spot for chunky heels and skyscraper shoes.

NOTE: My hair color here is different from the color in my New Year's POST. This was my hair color the day before I decided to get an ombre hue. So yes, I had my hair dyed twice! Crazy, right? Well, it won't be too long till I have hair dyed again into something much darker. I guess I really just can't be a "blondie".

Cafe 1771

Here are some of the photos from the intimate meeting we had with the SO FAB! folks last December. The meeting was held in Cafe 1771, a really cute and quaint little restaurant situated in El Pueblo, Ortigas. When I arrived, I found a special card on the table with my name on it. All of the other bloggers got one too (such a sweet gesture from So Fab). Our table was cutely decorated with pearls and there was even a cupcake centerpiece with the words, "So Fab", etched on each cupcake (sooo cute!). We had a short round of introduction at the start before we went through the discussion of the project details. Had a short chat and a few giggles with the other bloggers before we feasted on pizza and pasta. Yum!

I'm so excited for this collaboration project with SO FAB! and I'm really honored to be part of the roster of featured bloggers. Cheers to a good start for 2012!

A bit obsessed with these waxed burgundy jeans. Been wearing them quite a lot, especially on off days. I want another pair of burgundy jeans that has a bit more plum hue to it. Anyway, wore this outfit to a casual meeting with the folks from So Fab last December 11 (a lagged post, I know). So Fab, a local shoe brand, is collaborating with fashion bloggers for a very, very special project and I'm so excited to be part of this! Definitely a great way to kick off 2012! Will reveal further details about this project in weeks to come.

Starting The New Year With A Bang!

Hello, everyone! I've welcomed the new year with a bang...hair "bangs" that is! And as mentioned two posts ago, I now have ombre hair! I decided to celebrate a new year with a new haircut and color since I was already bored with my previous hair. I kept tying it up on a bun because I didn't know how else to style it. I'm not 100% satisfied with my ombre hair though (I look more like a K-Pop Star rather than a Rockstar...hahahaha!). I will have to go back to the salon another time (to have the top darkened a bit, have the blonde portion reduced and have the orange tones at the ends removed) but as of now, I'm trying to enjoy my new hair. Let's see if blondes really do have more fun!

Now on to the outfit...

I've been enjoying the "sweater-weather" in Manila lately. I've stocked up on a lot of lightweight knit pieces that's wearable in the day but could still keep me warm enough when it gets a bit chilly at night. This knit dress from Forever21 is such a great buy. I love the color combination of navy blue and gray, accented by gold threads. I decided to play up the gold accents of the dress with gold pieces of jewelry such as this beautiful jewel-encrusted cross necklace from SM Accessories. I'm not really a fan of gems on jewelry but this necklace had a bit of Russian opulence which spoke to me. And oh, how fun is this fur beret? I keep on stroking it everytime I have it on.

P.S. I still have a lot of backlog outfit posts with the old hair so expect to see those mixed up with blonde-hair-outfit-posts. I'll say it again...Happy New Year, everyone! I'm excited for this year!

Blush & Crimson

I finally got to wear my Kermit Tesoro heels out! These shoes are pretty tricky to wear. The blush-toned leather is extremely gorgeous but the color is a bit hard to pair off with other hues. It's a good thing that the colors on my bodycon dress worked well with the blush & crimson tones of the shoes. On a side note, I thought I'd already swore off bodycon dresses (there was a time in my life when almost every dress or top I amassed were bodycons) but the Missoni print on this dress just called me from the racks. It was love at first wear. I think the print on the dress also resembles the print on the shorts I wore in the HARNESS post. Well, that's it for now! A new year is about to greet us in a few hours on our side of the world.

Adorned an otherwise simple outfit with a "you-can't-miss" body harness. Love the play on the triangular shapes. There's something so gypsy/grunge-ish about an inverted triangle shape...I just can't explain why. I don't think I'll ever get tired of harnesses. I'll continue wearing them, even if they go out of style. Oh, my Topshop "Ambush" boots finally makes an appearance! I've been living in these boots lately. They're just so darn comfy and easy to wear.

Only 2 days left till another new year. For this coming 2012, I wish for more amazing blogging opportunities, good health (for me and my loved ones) and finally, a sense of contentment. What are your goals/resolutions/wishes for 2012?

A Mango Holiday

Sharing with you the official group photos from the Mango "Styled By" project I participated in, together with four other bloggers and a handful of Manila's top stylists. We were asked to prepare our own Mango looks a few days before the shoot and it was amazing how all of our outfits meshed into one coherent theme...that of a lush "glamoured-up-for-the-holidays" look.

For my look, I chose a black dress with a diamente-lined neckline, hot red leather jacket, wedge boots and jewelry in contrasting silver and brass tones (all from Mango). Simple but striking.

All Zipped Up

These photos were taken by fashion blogger and street photographer extraordinaire, Onin Lorente of Style Anywhere. The outfit was something unplanned. I just knew that I wanted to put my zippered maxi skirt on display. I originally intended to wear a knit jumper over the skirt but the zippered top actually went surprisingly well with the skirt. It's as if the zipper is running continuously from the top until the bottom of the skirt.

Onin is based in Singapore but he flies back to Manila every now and then to visit his hometown and to shoot anyone who catches his eye, renegade style. Onin and I had been planning to do this shoot for a while now but our schedules just wouldn't mesh. Finally, we were able to meet up last Monday and went ahead with the shoot immediately after a few besos. I love, love, love how the photos turned out...it's as if they were shot in a different country. I had so much fun shooting with Onin and I wouldn't mind doing it again next time. Christmas Shimmer

Merry Christmas, everyone! For Christmas Day, I decided to go for an easy look with a striped knit top and a shimmery tulip skirt. This top from Zara is really simple but I love the black detail on the side..the design reminds me somehow of Proenza Schouler's SS '10 scuba tops. Spent Christmas with my whole family from my dad's side. I received two of the best Christmas gifts too: seeing a genuine glint and excitement in my nephew's eyes (as he was opening my Christmas present for him) and spending sweet quiet time with my new baby nephew. Priceless.

When Bloggers Unite

Sharing with you some of the photos I took (out of a gazillion) during the Blogger's United Bazaar 2 last December 3. My BUB2 experience is definitely one for the books. I shared a booth with two of my favorite people, Cole & Paul. We never ran out of "customers" and visitors and we were up and running from morning till evening (had to change into flats in the late afternoon!). Never knew it was possible to feel tired and elated at the same time. All of the people who flocked to the bazaar made the experience really special. Once again, thank you to all of the readers, shoppers and friends who dropped by our booth! Thank you so much as well to the generous sponsors who made the BUB2 event possible (special shout-outs to Multiply Philippines, Accessorize, Nail It and Treston International College). Lastly, thank you the amazing trio of Pax, Melai and Ana for organizing the whole event. You guys are amazing! Hats off to you!

P.S. It seems so hard to be jovial about the upcoming Christmas celebrations when you know that a lot of our Filipino brothers and sisters in the South are currently suffering from the Typhoon Sendong aftermath. A heartbreaking situation such as this makes you want to recalculate your priorities and makes everything else less important and fleeting. I pray for strength for the CDO and Iligan typhoon victims. This too shall pass.

'Tis the season to be jolly and to dress up for the Holidays! When Candymag.com asked me to share a Holiday party look, this is what I came up with. I went for something dressier, pairing a gorgeous satin tulip skirt with a simple studded top and a white cape. Pedro Fights Aids

PEDRO has recently launched its PEDRO FIGHTS AIDS campaign, in collaboration with Youth AIDS Filipinas Alliance (YAFA). This movement aims to support the advocacy programs of YAFA. YAFA has been educating the public about HIV & AIDS, its modes of transmission and prevention. They are actively promoting HIV testing. They are also empowering the youth, both HIV positive and negative, to be proactive on the issue of HIV & AIDS in the Philippines.

To commemorate this meaningful campaign, Pedro is launching a pair of specially designed loafers for the men and ballet flats for the ladies. The PEDRO FIGHTS AIDS notebook (available in red and white) will be added to this exclusive collection to further stress on the importance of safe sex.

The loafers will be retailing for Php 3,595, ballet flats for Php 2,595 and the notebook will be sold at Php 450 each in-store. 25% of the sales will be donated to YAFA.

This is what I wore to the last day of the St. James Bazaar, one of my favorite local bazaars in Manila. I opted for a casual look since the folks over at the South are all about ease and comfort. The leather jacket, which I actually got for 70% off, was actually a stupid idea to wear inside a humid bazaar such as St. James. It was a good thing though that I went with a pair of shorts and a tank top or else I would've suffered tremendously from heat and sweat.

Since the St. James Bazaar is quite a big bazaar, a lot of walking was involved. I had to change into my cute snakeskin print Yosi Samra flats after a while as my feet got all tired and strained after moseying around, stall after stall. I recommend everyone to have a pair of flats. While ballet flats are not the most flattering pairs of shoes on any feet, you can't argue with its comfort factor. What's really groovy (Yes dearies, I'm using the term "groovy". Haha!) about these Yosi Samra flats is their portability. They're bendable so you can easily tuck them inside a decent-sized bag. You need not worry about lugging around a big paper bag or shoe bag for your spare flats because these Yosi Samras are so easy to carry around. And it doesn't hurt that these fancy flats come in other cute colors and prints too (I'm actually thinking of getting another pair in Brown snakeskin print).

These Yosi Samra flats are definite life-savers, or should I say...feet-savers, especially for those occasions wherein you just have to give your lovely footsies a rest from those too beautiful yet painful (well, a bit) platforms. Among this set, my favorites are "Muggins" and "Ponder Me Pewter". Muggins is a very pretty pale lavender with a hint of gray while Ponder Me Pewter is a fancy metallic hue that doesn't look tacky on nails. I love both colors because they make my manos look clean and fairer.

This is what I wore to the recently concluded Blogger's United Bazaar 2. I was inspired once again by one of Alexander Wang's runway looks (the skirt is definitely A Wang-inspired). I was originally planning to wear a hot pink knit jumper with the skirt but I opted to go with the fluoro yellow sweater for a real jolt of color. Got to wear my new Jeffrey Campbell wedge boots which look very mammoth-looking and bad ass, I reckon. It was a good thing that I wore my hair up in a bun because it was a bit humid inside the bazaar.

This amazing top from Ellemel is a product of the bright minds of three UP Clothing Technology students: Sam, Erica & Aien. While it employs a mullet design (which we usually see in other chiffon tops and skirt), the design on the front part is quite unconventional. It buttons on the side, resembling somewhat a chef's white jacket. I've had this top for quite a while and I haven't had the chance to wear it out because I was waiting for the perfect shoes to go with it (a shallow reason, I know). But...I did find the perfect shoes! Say hello to my Vertebrae boots! This pair is a collaboration between Soule Phenomenon and OS Accessories. The heel is an amazing work of art. A friend of mine made a comment on how the color of my ombre top reminded him of coffee with cream...and I couldn't agree more! I initially thought of wearing this knit top with leather shorts but I ended up going for this almost-forgotten mullet skirt. It's a good pairing, I must say. I wore this outfit last Saturday to a group photo for Mango "Styled By". This project involves various sought-after stylists and fellow bloggers (such as Laureen, Kryz, Raleene & Pax). Winter Is Coming...

I wish we had winter season here in the Philippines so that I can play around with various degrees of layers and wear the thickest of faux fur coats. Unfortunately, I would have to settle for December's mild cold breeze and learn to live with pairing fur-trimmed vests with short but decent bottoms. This furry ensemble I came up with actually elicited some reactions from people. They must've thought I've lost my mind by wearing a fur piece in a tropical country. Well all I can say is... I.JUST.DON'T.GIVE.A.DAMN. In other news, I've recently developed a fondness for platform pumps. As I much as I hate to admit it, pumps bring out the girly, saccharine side of me and it's nice to act like a "real lady" from time to time (whatever that means!). I'm completely loving this snakeskin print pumps that the Primadonna folks sent over. The height is just right and the heels are chunky...just the way I like it!

This is the 2nd and final look that I came up with for the Giordano Fashion Showdown (posted my 1st look HERE). For this look, I decided to go with a pair of red pumps to soften the toughness of the leather jacket and pants.

This elusive cape-type of jacket has been playing hide-and-seek with me for the longest time. Finally, I was triumphant to have found one in the treasure chest that is The Ramp. The jacket has a bit of a tailored structure so I kept all other elements of my look casual. Coming up with this outfit was also the perfect opportunity to whip out my Dolce Vite boots, what with its rugged character. I wouldn't mind having these boots beaten down further.

What I wore to Day 6 of Philippine Fashion Week. This is also the same look that was published in Hanger, a Malaysian-based fashion magazine (will share a photo of the feature once I get a scanned copy). I got this knit dress from F21 for almost 70% off (such a great buy, I must say). I haven't seen any knit dress like it locally so I'm pretty stoked about this purchase. Even though the knit material is quite chunky and heavy, it's still comfortable to wear under Philippine weather...thanks to its sleeveless design! I channeled a bit of an Alexander Wang SS '09 look with this knit dress. Paired it with my favorite stinky beanie and my beloved Soule Phenomenon wedges for a look that's simple but a bit rugged.

Giordano Fashion Showdown: Look 1

About a month ago, I and three other bloggers were invited by Giordano Philippines to take part in the Giordano Fashion Showdown contest. We were challenged to style a Giordano Ball Tee of our choice and to come up with two looks incorporating the Ball Tee. The outfit above is one of the two looks I came up with. I chose a Ball Tee that had some pop of color to it and paired it with tough leather pieces for a rebel, "off-to-Coachella" look.

I'm over the moon with this detachable sport collar (I also have another one in a cute leopard print peter pan collar style). It's such a "fun" accessory to play with! I adore the print and the eye-catching color combination of blue + lime green (the colors actually reminds of Proenza Schouler). The punchy colors definitely stood out from the black & white hues of my top and skirt. I already have so many outfit ideas for this collar and I'm just itching to execute them!

When two professional interviewers come together in one radio booth, the listener is guaranteed entertaining and insightful conversations. Sweet Treats

I am not a fan of sweets but I have a very sweet spot for Sophie's Mom's sweet treats. My first taste of Sophie's Mom's treats was during the 1st Blogger's United Bazaar last May 2011. I got the Strawberries & Cream mochi ice cream and I must say, it got me at first bite (more about my mochi ice cream post HERE). But Sophie's Mom is not just about mochis. They also offer a variety of cookies, cupcakes, pastries and bread. About 3 weeks ago, I received two boxes filled with savory sweet creations (and le tummy couldn't be happier). Take a look below to find out what was inside those boxes.

Inside one of the boxes are 6 pieces of decadent Red Velvet cupcakes. To be honest, Red Velvet is my least favorite flavor for cakes (well, that and Banan too). I just don't like cheese mixed with anything sweet (and this includes cheess in puto or bibingka). But Sophie's Mom's Red Velvet cupcake is a whole different story. The cream cheese topping is not too "cheesy" (which works for me!) and inside the cupcake are chocolate chiips (which for me, counters the cream cheese taste a bit).

Moving on to the other box...

Inside is a mix of different pastries and cookies: Spanish bread, Oreo stookies, Nutella sweet buns and White Chocolate Macadamia cookies. The Spanish bread was a bit of a surprise. I don't like Spanish bread in general. There's something about its taste which doesn't sit well on me. But Sophie's Mom's Spanish bread is different. It has a sweet creamy filling which tastes like pastillas. I give extra points to Sophie's Mom for coming up with a new version of Spanish bread! The small buns (with sesame seeds) that you see in the photos above are the Nutella buns. This is a wee bit like the local pandesal but with a chocolate filling inside. Very tasty and yummy! As for the cookies, unfortunately, I wasn't able to taste any of them because my officemates ate all of them! Haha!

Playing around with lightweight pieces once again. I will never get tired of chiffon. It's one of my favorite fabrics. It's airy, sensual and doesn't easily crease when worn. Wore this to the DIVA Blogger's Camp yesterday. This event is probably one of the best (if not the best) events I've ever attended. I met a lot of new bloggers, chatted with old blogger friends and had an amazing time with all of them. Will do a heavy-photo post on the said event very soon.

I'm feeling a bit under the weather today due to an allergy. Hope everyone is doing fine though!

Wore this casual outfit to a "Styled By" shoot for Mango Philippines. I swear by the formula of "lightweight top + leather shorts + character shoes" to get me through those lazy I-don't-know-what-to-wear days. And when I say "lightweight", I prefer those sheer chiffon tops which are very easy to wear. Wanted to get this chiffon polo in a royal blue color too. Too bad that color is already sold out. There's a new DIVA in the Town (Alabang Town Center, that is!). Say hello to Diva, the newest brand of accessories which caters to a younger set of fashionistas. And the best news is, it's opening its first branch in the South! Woot!
